Structure of the Biobank

The Biobank is divided up into three main banks: the Neurological Tissue Bank (NTB), the Tumour and Tissue Bank (TTB) and the Biological Fluids Bank (BFB), which determine the catalogue of samples and associated data available. Additionally, the Biobank has an area for data and documentation management and for monitoring the quality system.

Collection of neurological tissue (brain and spinal cord) from post-mortem donations from people with neurological diseases and controls.   

Tumour and Tissue Bank (TTB)

Tumour and Tissue Bank (TTB)

Collection of tissue from patients with oncological diseases, among others, and controls.   

Biological Fluids Bank (BFB)

Biological Fluids Bank (BFB)

Collection of samples from patients with metabolic, inflammatory bowel, respiratory, cardiac, infectious, hepatic, digestive, maternal and foetal diseases, and controls.  

Data Management, Documentation and Quality Area

Data Management, Documentation and Quality Area

Area that focuses on the management of pre-analytical and clinical data associated with donors and biological samples; documentation related to Informed Consent and the management of the monitoring of the ISO9001:2015 quality system.
