As a scientific and technical platform supporting research, the Biobank collaborates in national and international networks. At the Tumour and Tissue Bank, the Biobank coordinates the Catalan Network of Tumour Banks, XBTC.
The Biobank is a research platform that forms part of the CERCAGINYS network.
It is also an entity funded by the Carlos III Health Institute and participates as a Unit in the National Biomodels and Biobanks Platform, PNBB.
Participation in the PNBB is key, as it allows the PNBB coordinating node, led by Dr. Núria Montserrat from the IBEC, to be represented as observer biobanks in the international BBMRI-ERIC network.
Likewise, the Biobank is a collaborating member of different consortia for the promotion of the collection of cohorts of biobank funds and the provision of specialized services to research projects, such as: EBRAINS, PPMI, CIBER, GETECCU, STEPUPIORS, etc.
Finally, the Biobank is a member of the Biosample Hub
and of the European, Middle Eastern & African Society for Biopreservation and Biobanking, ESBB.
