Research - Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology Service

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology Service leads several areas of research with the aim of promoting the development of new projects that allow for the expansion of collaborations and information concerning the most prevalent psychiatric pathologies in childhood and adolescence.

The Service is part of various Research Groups:

  • The research carried out through the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS), from the area of ??Clinical and Experimental Neurosciences, and is led by the groups

  • Research group recognized by the Agency for the Management of University and Research Grants of the Department of Innovation, University and Business of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Research Group on Psychiatry and Child Clinical Psychology -GRUPPIC-)

The research is also developed in:

  • Group IV of the Biomedical Research Center in the Mental Health Network (CIBERSAM)

The Service also leads research in collaboration with other institutions:

  • University of Barcelona (Department of Clinical Fundamentals of the Faculty of Medicine and Department of Anthropology of the Faculty of Biology)

  • Gregorio Marañón Hospital

  • Hospital Niño Jesús de Madrid

  • Hospital of Sant Joan de Déu d'Esplugues

  • Bellvitge Hospital

  • Vall d’Hebron Hospital

It also participates in three international research projects, together with European centers.

The Service is also part of the ENIGMA Consortium (Enhancing Neuro Imaging Genetics Throught Meta Analysis), an international association that includes 32 research groups from 16 countries around the world, dealing with numerous psychiatric diseases: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Eating Disorder Autism Spectrum, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, High Risk for Psychosis and Anorexia Nervosa.

In recent years, there has been an increase in research into existing production lines and an increase in funded projects, scientific production and the impact factor. In addition, different members of the service have read their doctoral theses.
