Bronchiectasis symptoms

The most common symptoms are:

Person with persistent cough

Cough.

Cough with expectoration or sputum

Sputum production.

These are usually chronic or intermittent. Other possible symptoms are:

Fatigued woman sweating

Fatigue.

Person with lung disease who coughs up blood

Blood in the sputum (haemoptysis).

It is also common for patients to have symptoms related to respiratory infections, such as fever or low-grade fever, increased coughing and the presence of pus (purulence) in the mucus expelled when coughing.

Patients may not have any symptoms between episodes of respiratory infection.
