The Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics Service is part of the Biomedical Diagnostic Center of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. The main objective of the Service is to provide the necessary resources for the development, performance and interpretation of analytical tests in the field of clinical chemistry, as well as to promote research and training programs in laboratory medicine.

The Service consists of a multidisciplinary team of physicians with extensive experience in the development and execution of analytical methods for enzyme immunoassay, radioimmunoassay, high resolution chromatography, mass spectrometry, genetic analysis, DNA sequencing, genomics and proteomics.

The Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics Service is made up of a multidisciplinary team of doctors, laboratory technicians and administrative staff. The medical team specializes in biochemistry and molecular genetics techniques. Staff are divided into four Sections: Congenital Metabolic Errors; Pharmacology and Toxicology; Molecular Genetics, Hormones, Oncobiology, and Cytokines.
