Diagnosis of Leptospirosis

Reading time: 1 min

The disease can be diagnosed in different ways, depending on which stage it is in.

DNA molecule or helix

Genetic detection technique (PCR). To measure the bacteria in the blood during the first week.

Urine sample cup and urine test strip

Urine culture. To measure the bacteria during the second week, as it has now passed to the urine.

Immune system cell with antibodies

Antibody measurement. From the second week, the body's immune response to the bacteria can also be measured by antibodies that help diagnosis, although these do not tend to be definitive.
