Should I have surgery if a nail becomes ingrown only once?

Surgery is recommended only for patients who have this pathology recurrently or in the advanced stages.

Will I be able to wear high heels after surgery?

Shoes with a narrow toe and high heels impair normal foot function and toe mobility during walking, so podiatrists do not recommend wearing them on a regular basis.

Can an ingrown toenail appear again after surgery?

Reappearance of onychocryptosis, called recurrence, is not common and less so with current surgical techniques. However, it may occasionally reappear.

How long does it take to recover?

Recovery time may vary depending on the surgical technique. As a general rule, special care must be taken during the first fortnight, while in a month the patient should be completely recovered.
