Facial Paralysis treatment at Clínic

The Facial Paralysis Working Group at the Hospital Clínic, Barcelona is responsible for managing the comprehensive treatment of patients with facial paralysis. This group consists of a team of professionals from different medical specialities who analyse and share the patient's evolution to offer personalised treatment: pharmacological, rehabilitation, using neuromodulators or surgical reconstruction of either the facial nerve or the dynamic or static situation of the face.  

There are working groups and multidisciplinary units made up of the Rehabilitation, Neurology, Physiotherapy, Ear, Nose and Throat, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery and Maxillofacial Surgery teams that work together to improve the care and treatment of patients with facial paralysis.  

Currently, a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) covering diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients with facial paralysis is being worked on.
