Research on AMD at the Clinic

Research on AMD is carried out mainly through the Institut d'Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS), specifically in the Ocular Inflammation group: Clinical and Experimental Studies.

ICOF researchers work on various research projects on this disease, notable among which is the international project Fight Retinal Blindness (FRB) at Sydney University, coordinated at a national level from the Institute. The clinical trials unit participates in the main international studies of new chemical entities for the treatment of AMD, accessible to all patients treated at the hospital.
