The cardiac haemodynamics unit is part of the Clínical Cardiovascular Institute (ICCV), which consists of a chief medical officer, four assistant doctors, a nursing coordinator and nursing staff, who cover the morning and afternoon shifts and 24-hour call every day of the year. A porter, a nursing assistant and administrative staff also form part of the unit.

The unit has 3 operating rooms where the procedures are performed and a recovery room for patients given general anaesthesia.

A multidisciplinary team is required for certain procedures, so professionals from other units are incorporated into the catheterisation department, such as anaesthesiologists, surgeons and echocardiographers.
