Our research group is a research leader for the acute treatment of heart attacks. The Examination study compared two different types of stents in the acute treatment of patients with myocardial infarction with a 10-year follow-up. This showed how one type of drug-eluting stent is superior to other conventional stents. This study contributed to updating the European guidelines on the treatment of these patients, with the use of this type of device being recommended.
