Symptoms of Vitiligo

Reading time: 1 min

The most obvious symptom is the appearance of white patches on the skin. The most common clinical picture is:

Symmetrical patches distributed throughout the body.

Different areas of the body. The folds of the armpits, groin and genital area.

Orifices, such as the nostrils, lips, eyes and ears.

Hair, eyelashes and eyebrows and the early appearance of grey hair.

Although not physically harmful, vitiligo can significantly affect the patient's quality of life. Visible changes in skin colour can lead to low self-esteem and anxiety. Those with vitiligo may experience discrimination or harassment due to their appearance, which can affect their mental and emotional well-being.
