Symptoms of Typhoid Fever

Once the bacteria is ingested through contaminated food or water, it passes to the bloodstream through the intestine after an incubation period of 5 to 15 days, and from here it can reach various organs. Some patients are able to tackle this phase and overcome the disease, but they are carriers of the bacteria that they eliminate through their faeces.   

The main symptoms are:  

Tired woman, sweating

Tiredness.   

Thermometer with a danger signal indicating fever

Fever.  

Standing person with abdominal pain

Abdominal pain.   

Woman vomiting into the toilet

Nausea.   

Person with hand on temple with headache

Headache.   

Woman with bowel problems by the toilet

Diarrhoea or constipation.   

Man with skin blemishes

Skin rash, in some cases.
