Treatment of Typhoid Fever

Reading time: 1 min

Treatment is based on administering antibiotics, as well as support measures to prevent dehydration. The disease can be cured with antibiotics, although resistance to these is widespread, especially in Asia.

The following is recommended:

Correct pills

Taking antibiotics in accordance with the guidelines indicated by healthcare staff.

Wash hands with water and a bar of soap

Washing hands with soap and water after going to the toilet.

Plate with food crossed out

Not preparing or serving food for other people.

Healthcare staff and those who handle food should not return to work until there is proof that the bacteria has been eliminated.
