Tinnitus or ringing in the ears is a noise heard by a person but which does not come from an external source. It can occur in one or both ears.

There is no therapy that has been proven to completely eliminate tinnitus.

How many people are affected by Tinnitus?

Tinnitus affects 10-15% of the population, while at least a quarter have experienced it once. This percentage increases with age and can reach up to 43%.  

Most patients have some degree of deafness (hearing loss) and it is occasionally associated with a serious problem.
