Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea at Hospital Clínic

Every year at the Hospital Clinic, Barcelona continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) treatment is started for over 600 patients. We complete 2500 sleep studies each year, both in patients’ homes and at the hospital. Similarly, we carry out 2000 CPAP follow-up visits in the specialised adaptation consultation sessions while monitoring treatment.

The Hospital Clinic, Barcelona sleep laboratory is a pioneer of the multidisciplinary approach to treatment; emphasising education and CPAP training for patients, as well as the validation of diagnostic methods and automatic CPAP machines to optimise sleep apnoea management.

The Clínic was reaccredited by the Spanish Society of Pulmonology and Thoracic Surgery (SEPAR) as an expert multidisciplinary sleep unit and as an excellent non-invasive home ventilation unit in 2023.
