In case of fever (of over 38°C) following travel to a tropical zone, you are recommended to urgently seek a health centre where you can be diagnosed and given suitable treatment.

Person drinking a standing glass of water

Stay well hydrated.

Pill with prescription meds

Take paracetamol to lower the fever.

Correct blue and green pharmaceuticals

Do not take aspirin and, as far as is possible, avoid taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as ibuprofen).

Tick

If you find a tick attached to your skin following exposure to risk, it should be removed with tweezers. Pull it perpendicularly from close to the skin to prevent the transmission of bacteria.
