Rickettsiosis transmission

Rickettsiosis is transmitted to human beings through arthropod bites, particularly ticks. Transmission takes place throughout the year, but increases during open air activities in the summer months.
There is also the possibility of infection due to accidental inoculation in the laboratory, or by aerosol contamination.
