The presence of peritoneal carcinomatosis has not only been related to a worse prognosis, but can also worsen the quality of life of patients.  It may be asymptomatic, but sometimes is accompanied by symptoms. For example:  

  • Toxic shock syndrome (thinness, fatigue, malnutrition).
  • Abdominal pain.
  • Acute urinary obstruction.
  • Intestinal perforation.
  • Obstruction throughout the entire gastrointestinal tract.
