Parotid Tumour research at Clínic

Reading time: 1 min

Research projects on parotid tumours at the Clinic are:

  • Multicentre REDESIGN project, aimed at the study of the molecular profile of salivary gland tumours.

  • Facial nerve segmentation project: the centre's radiologists and surgical team are studying the precision of 3D virtual segmentations of the facial nerve in relation to parotid tumours.

The following are notable innovations led by Hospital Clínic Barcelona:

  • The rhytidectomy incision that allows for minimally invasive treatment, with fewer aesthetic consequences in performing the parotectomy.

  • The development and application of 3D tumour and nerve path segmentation techniques for planning glandular surgeries.
