Treatment of Inguinal or Crural Hernias

The only effective solution for a hernia is surgical treatment. Repair techniques using tension (sutures) are in disuse, and are rarely used at the global level due to their high recurrence rate.

The best current surgical treatment is based on tension-free techniques that use prostheses (mesh).

Surgery can either be open or minimally invasive surgery using laparoscopy.
