Hospital Clínic currently performs more than 100 inguino-crural hernia repairs each year, with a conversion rate (those performed in major outpatient surgery) of more than 85%.

Hospital Clínic has extensive experience in laparoscopic EXTRAPERITONEAL repair (extended TEP) which is a better option than conventional open surgery. Furthermore, it has a significant presence at the national level in terms of developing protocols for this surgical technique.

Professionals at Hospital Clínic participate in national and international congresses and teach intensive training courses on extraperitoneal laparoscopic repair to groups from other Catalan and Spanish hospitals.
