Causes and risk factors of Abdominal Separation or Diastasis Recti

Its appearance is secondary to connective tissue diseases and situations leading to increased intra-abdominal pressure, such as pregnancy, obesity, ascites or intense physical activity. People with chronic cough (bronchopathies) and/or those who regularly use corticosteroids are more likely to have diastasis recti.
