Teaching and Training - Infectious Diseases Service

The Service has 15 residents in training each year in the following specialty:

It also welcomes residents from other services. In addition, it receives more than 30 doctors from other Spanish centers or from centers in other countries. During their stay they learn the basic principles of diagnosis and treatment of the most common infections.

Specific training objectives include knowledge of the main antimicrobials, their mechanism of action and their spectrum, as well as the basic principles of pharmacodynamics that allow their consumption to be optimized.

In the field of HIV infection, they learn to identify the main opportunistic infections and their treatment, as well as the basic principles of antiretroviral treatment, including adverse effects.

Postgraduate

The Service carries out two Postgraduate Masters, one dedicated to deepening HIV infection and the second to infections related to solid organ transplantation.
