Teaching and Training - Gynecology Service

The Gynecology Service of the Hospital Clínic carries out different teaching and training actions in the following areas:

Degree

The Service has two tenured professors and 11 associate professors of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Barcelona who actively participate in the training of medical students.

MIR

The Service participates in the training of the MIR specialties of:

Continuing education

There is a stable program of postgraduate, advanced courses and an international fellowship in oncology gynecology.

In 2017, the Oncology Gynecology Unit was accredited by the European Board And College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (EBCOG) and the European Society of Gynecological Oncology (ESGO) as a reference center for the training of gynecology specialists.

In the Human Reproduction Section, several courses are offered. Especially notable is the Advanced Course in Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility, aimed at expanding the knowledge of gynecologists in the context of a multidisciplinary unit covering gynecological endocrinology, andrology and fertility in a third level center such as the Hospital Clínic. Moreover, there is the Advanced Course in Assisted Human Reproduction Techniques, aimed at biologists and lasting one year, focused on comprehensive training in the Laboratory of a high-level Assisted Reproduction Unit.

Fellowships

  • Subspecialty in Gynecologic Oncology accredited by ESGO: The Gynecologic Oncology Unit is accredited by the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO) as a reference center for the training of specialists in Gynecologic Oncology under the "Training Program Clinic 2023."
  • Subspecialty in Urogynecology: The gynecology section is accredited by the European Urogynecological Association (EUGA) as a European reference center for the training of specialists in Urogynecology.

Masters

The Clinical Sexology Working Group participates in the management and organization of the Master’s in Clinical Sexology and Sexual Health at the University of Barcelona, as well as in the management and organization of the Diploma in Clinical Sexology and Sexual Education at the University of Barcelona.

The various units and sections of the Service collaborate in different official and proprietary master’s programs at the University of Barcelona and other universities.
