The research led by the Gynecology Service is carried out mainly through the August Pi Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS), in the Area of the Liver, the digestive system and metabolism in the group of:

The main lines of research of the Gynecology Service are the following:

Cervical cancer and premalignant lesions

• Vaccines (prophylactic and therapeutic) for cervical cancer and premalignant lesions

• Determination of HPV and biomarkers in the diagnosis, prognosis and follow-up of cervical cancer and premalignant lesions

• Sentinel ganglion for cervical cancer and premalignant lesions

• PET / CT scan and portable gamma camera in the staging of cervical cancer

• Sentinel Gangli in Gynecologic Cancer

Ovarian cancer

• Intraperitoneal chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

• Prehabilitation in advanced ovarian cancer

Endocrinology and reproduction

• Preservation of Fertility

As a result of this research activity, the Service publishes an average of between 40 and 50 articles each year in journals indexed with an impact factor. They also read between one and two doctoral theses a year.
