On Monday, March 21, 2022, a delegation from the DiabetesCero Foundation visited IDIBAPS to learn first-hand about the institution's research in diabetes.
DiabetesCero is formed mainly by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, devoted to promote research excellence related to the disease in order to find care.
They are currently funding three research projects, one of which is led by Rosa Gasa, a researcher in the Translational Research in Diabetes, Lipids and Obesity group at IDIBAPS. The specific project aims to generate insulin-producing cells from skin cells. More information about the project, here.
During the visit, Rosa Gasa and her team explained the details of the research they are carrying out with these funds. DiabetesCero members were also able to visit the laboratory where diabetes research is carried out and the institution's biobank.
In 2018 the DiabetesCero Foundation already made a first visit to IDIBAPS.
This is an activity of the UCC+I of IDIBAPS supported by FECYT.
