    Dr. Leo Anthony Celi is the lead researcher behind the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care (MIMIC) project and its derivatives (MIMIC-CXR, MIMIC-ED, MIMIC-ECHO, and MIMIC-ECG). With nearly 100,000 users worldwide and over 10,000 publications on Google Scholar, his datasets have transformed the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare in the United States and internationally. His team has published three open-access books and created online courses in health informatics, with over 1.7 million downloads and translations into several languages. He has also led the organization of over 50 data-thons in 22 countries, collaborating with universities, hospitals, and professional societies to promote data usage in healthcare.

  • Juan Castro GenAI team leader – NTT DATA

    Juan Castro is a computer engineer with a master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence and more than five years of experience in developing AI, NLP, and advanced analytics solutions for the social and healthcare sector. He currently leads technical teams at NTT Data, focusing on generative AI and advanced analytics solutions to improve healthcare through innovative technology.

  • Giovanni Angelotti MIT Critical Data Expert

    Giovanni Angelotti is pursuing his PhD studies at the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence USI-SUPSI in Switzerland, specializing in neural causal inference. His research focuses on developing AI models for high-stakes decision-making based on real-world data. With extensive experience in healthcare records and multimodal clinical data, Giovanni is a member of MIT Critical Data, a global ecosystem of healthcare and data science professionals advocating for equity in AI research. He is also part of the Imprecise Probability Group at IDSIA and participates in bioinformatics and personalized medicine groups at the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics.

  • Dr. Xavi Borrat Head of Clinical Informatics Service - Hospital Clinic Barcelona

    Dr. Xavi Borrat has been a physician since 2002 and an anesthesiologist since 2006. In 2023, he became the head of the Clinical Informatics Service at Hospital Clínic in Barcelona, where he combines his clinical duties as an anesthesiologist with the development of predictive models in anesthesiology, AI, and big data in healthcare. He is also an associate professor of Bioengineering at the University of Barcelona and an affiliated researcher at MIT, where he participates in projects on AI equity, interoperability, and open medical data platforms.

    Paula Petrone is a data scientist and associate professor at ISGlobal in Barcelona, a research institute focused on global health. A physics graduate from the Balseiro Institute in Patagonia, Argentina, and biophysics from Stanford University, she has worked in drug discovery for major pharmaceutical companies such as Roche and Novartis. She currently leads a team of biomedical data scientists at ISGlobal that, through data analysis and AI, develops tools for disease risk diagnosis and assessment. Passionate about AI ethics, she also researches algorithmic biases and technological inequalities.

  • Aitor González-Agirre Leader Language Technologies- Barcelona Super Computing Center BSC

    Aitor González-Agirre is the leader of the Language Models team in the Language Technologies Unit at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, where he develops large-scale language models and their applications in natural language processing. He has won multiple awards, most recently for his work "MarIA: Spanish Language Models" in 2022, and he has recently been involved in training the Salamandra family of language models.

    Ana Bosch holds a Law degree and has served as a State Attorney, with extensive experience in the public sector and the pharmaceutical industry. Since 2020, she has been leading the Legal Department and is the secretary of the Governance Bodies of Farmaindustria.
