Symptoms of Uterine Fibroids

The most common symptoms are:

  • abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) in the form of longer and heavier menstrual cycles.
  • pelvic pain.
  • vesico-rectal compression symptoms in the form of: increased urination frequency, constipation and difficulty in voiding.
  • pain during intercourse.
  • and, in some cases, reproductive problems.

Warning signs

Women with uterine fibroids may also have bleeding problems and pain during a pelvic examination when the uterus is enlarged and irregular in shape.
