Research is focused on learning about the pathways that affect the stem cells that mainly control tumour growth.

In addition to controlling symptoms, treatment research lines are focused on postponing or eliminating surgical procedures.

In recent years, the development of new drugs, based on selective modulators of progesterone receptors, have been crucial in the management of fibroids. These treatments focus on the effect they have on type A and B progesterone receptors on tumour growth.
