Reading time: 1 min

The main orbital diseases are types of inflammation, especially thyroid-associated orbitopathy and other inflammation of the orbit, orbital tumours, periocular and orbital trauma, and the management of patients who are blind or have eye pain, through surgical procedures that consist of total or partial removal of the globe (enucleations and eviscerations).

Thyroid-associated orbitopathy occurs most frequently in middle-aged women. Other pathologies can affect both sexes and patients of any age, depending on the type of condition.
