Evolution for Kidney Cancer

Reading time: 1 min

The evolution of the disease will be different depending on the clinical stage of the patient and type of tumour. In the majority of cases, surgical treatment cures the disease and subsequently only follow-up with imaging and analytical tests is necessary to rule out the recurrence of the disease, with renal function monitoring.

Cures are not common for metastatic disease; however, medical treatment has improved survival with good quality of life for these patients. These patients will be assessed at the outpatient clinic, to monitor the treatment and evolution of the disease with imaging and analytical tests.
