Research in Familial Heart Diseases at Clínic

Research on familial heart disease is carried out, for the most part, through the Institut d'Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer in the Area of ​​Biopathology and respiratory, cardiovascular and renal bioengineering. The groups that develop this research are:

• Arrhythmias, resynchronization and cardiac imaging
• Atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease and heart failure
• Cardiac imaging

The projects that are underway in the field of familial heart disease are:

• ANVERSO: Continuous and Automatic analysis of Electrocardiographic Variables associated to the Risk of Sudden Death in patients with Brugada Syndrome. FIS Project 

• MOSCAT Study (Sudden Death in Catalonia). Collaboration between the Cardiovascular Genetics Centre, the High Court of Justice of Catalonia, the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of Catalonia and Hospital Josep Trueta in Girona, Hospital Clínic in Barcelona and Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona. 

• B3 Adrenergic Agonist Treatment in Chronic Pulmonary Hypertension Secondary to Heart Failure: Placebo-Controlled Phase II Randomized Clinical Trial. Project of La Marató de TV3.

• Study of the pathophysiological mechanisms that lead to right ventricular maladaptive hypertrophy in chronic pulmonary hypertension. FIS project.

• ARRAY Study. A Phase 3, Multinational, Randomized, Placebo-controlled Study of ARRY-371797 in Patients with Symptomatic Dilated Cardiomyopathy Due to a Lamin A/C Gene Mutation.
