Research - Unit of Addictive Behaviors

The research led by the Addictive Behaviors Unit of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona focuses on improving the treatment of patients, both in terms of personal satisfaction and the effectiveness of the results.

The research led by the Unit is carried out through the Institute of Biomedical Research August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS), in the area of clinical and experimental Neurosciences. Specifically to the following research group:

  • Clinical addictions

    The main lines of research are the following:

    • Alcohol and public health
    • Tobacco and mental health
    • Pharmacological treatments for detoxification and alcoholic rehabilitation
    • Validation of measuring instruments in addictions
    • Evaluation of group therapies in addictions
    • Prospective longitudinal studies
    • Use of new technologies in the treatment of addictive behaviors
    • Cannabis and public health
