Research - Plastic Surgery Service

The Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery Service has been a leader in research on the behavior of fat implants into the face and breast areas.

The research activity of the Service reinforces the efforts to improve the performance of fat grafts in breast reconstruction, and in the field of gender confirmation, this research points to the functional and anatomical improvement of these techniques.

The objectives of the Maxillofacial Section focus on the design of zygomatic implants and also, currently, on the design of devices and personalized prostheses in the maxillofacial area, which allows treatments to be made-to-measure according to the needs of each patient.
