Forbes magazine has just published the ranking of the top 25 hospitals in Spain in 2024, and the Clínic Barcelona is ranked in fourth position. Preceded by the Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz, the Hospital Universitario La Paz and the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre in Madrid, the Clínic is the first hospital in Catalonia and also the first Spanish hospital outside of the Autonomous Community of Madrid to appear on the list.
This is the second year running that Forbes magazine has drawn up this list, which classifies the most outstanding hospitals in Spain. The list is based on the study of several international indexes, awards obtained and the most outstanding achievements by each centre.
In the case of the Clínic, the magazine begins by mentioning the long and extensive history of the hospital, which over the years has been a pioneer in many different fields. However, above all, it focuses on the most recent milestones and in this case highlights the robot-assisted aortic valve surgery programme, with the Clínic being the only hospital Europe to perform this type of robotic surgery.
With regard to the rankings, worthy of note are the Clínic’s 62nd position on the list of the best hospitals in the world published by Newsweek and the second place on the MRS list of the best public hospitals in Spain. Moreover, on the new list, Forbes highlights the fact that five of the Clínic’s services were ranked in first place on the MRS list.
