Bertero studied biology at the University of Pavia, where she also obtained her doctorate. After a post-doctoral period in Munich and another in Vancouver, in 2006, she joined the Barcelona Genome Regulation Center. Over the past 11 years, she was head of international and scientific affairs.
The IDIBAPS strategy department includes management of the offices of scientific coordination, institutional actions, platforms, laboratories, KTT, and communication.
The date when Bertero takes up the post will be announced in the coming weeks.

Michela Bertero, new director of strategy at IDIBAPS
IDIBAPS management has approved the appointment of doctor Michela Bertero as the new IDIBAPS director of strategy. The decision was made following an open selection process. Bertero replaces Marga Nadal, who is currently the director of IDIBGi.
