On the afternoon of Friday, November 11, under the slogan “Opening up labs, opening up knowledge, opening up IDIBAPS”, the institute of biomedical research of excellence linked to the Hospital Clínic opened the doors to the public. After a short welcome speech by Michela Bertero, the IDIBAPS director of strategy, visitors were given a guided tour around the labs and scientific platforms to learn at first-hand about the research conducted there.
A circuit of workshops linked to different areas of science was also organized for younger visitors.
More than 250 people attended the IDIBAPS open day. Full Photo Gallery.
This activity, organised by the IDIBAPS UCC+I, is supported by FECYT.
About IDIBAPS
IDIBAPS is a biomedical research centre of excellence engaged in translational research. In other words, the centre seeks answers to questions that arise at the sick person’s bedside and to ensure that advances made in the laboratory are quickly transferred to patients. Over its 25-year trajectory, IDIBAPS has become the leading biomedical research facility in Catalonia and in Spain, as it is the centre which publishes the most scientific articles in indexed journals.
