The #científiques project is an initiative of the Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRI) and the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST), with the collaboration of the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya, which unveils a fresh identity: moving on from #100tífiques and introducing #científiques.
Because there are far more than 100 professionals who inspire boys and girls in classrooms, helping to break down gender stereotypes while highlighting the talent of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematic. Among many others, this 2025, #científiques has had the participation of researchers from IDIBAPS: Anna Vila, Carla Di Battista, Cristina López, Ester Sánchez, Raquel Ferrer, Marisol Veny, Lucía Aragón and Victoria Gudiño.
Previously, on February 5, a meeting of #científiques of this 2025 will be held. The event, which will be attended by authorities such as the Minister of Education and Professional Training of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Esther Niubó, and the Minister of Research and Universities of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Núria Montserrat, is a tribute to women researchers, as well as a space for meeting and exchange. Attendees will have the opportunity to listen to the conference of Mafalda Dias, head of the Probabilistic machine learning and genomics research group at the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG), on how the diversity of the planet can teach us things about human health. In addition, Karina Gibert Oliveras, professor and director of the Intelligent Data Science and Artificial Intelligence research center at the UPC, Rosa Maria Gil Iranzo, professor at the Higher Polytechnic School of the University of Lleida (UdL), and Marta P. Estarellas, director of Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech, S.L., will lead a round table on whether artificial intelligence can be an opportunity for a more just and inclusive world.
