Sex reassignment surgery

As the name implies, sex (or gender) reassignment surgery encompasses all those surgical procedures that are performed with the aim of making a transgender person's body congruent with the gender with which they identify. 

Transsexuality or gender incongruence is used to describe severe discomfort with one's birth sex, manifested by a desire to live, dress and be treated as a member of the opposite sex.
