Symptoms of Decreased Foetal Movement

Reading time: 1 min

Under normal conditions, at 24 weeks the baby's movements should be perceived. If no movement has been felt by 24 weeks of gestation, the mother should consult the medical team. If movements have been noticed, but a change in the usual pattern of the baby's movements has been felt, again, it is recommended to consult the medical team.

You should not delay any consultation longer than 24 hours after noticing a decrease in movement or lack of it. If you are not sure, you should count the number of movements the baby makes, and check if there are less than 10 movements during a 12-hour period or less than 10 movements during the 2 hours following a meal. It is also best to do this counting while stretching out on your left side.
