Lines of research on Optic Neuritis

The studies currently being conducted in the field of optic neuritis focus on the pathophysiology of the disease, understanding the mechanisms that cause inflammation of the optic nerve, as well as knowing what structural and functional changes occur in the optic nerve of people with neuritis.  

Predictors of disease progression are being sought in order to allow early identification of cases that may require different treatments.
