Illness Anxiety Disorder Research at the Clínic

Reading time: 1 min

Research is done on anxiety and related disorders at the Clinic; for example, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in adults, adolescents and children. In recent years, important scientific contributions have been made on the neurobiological basis of anxiety, predictors of response to psychological treatments and the application of intensive psychological treatments. Some examples are:

  • Identifying the brain regions most involved in fear/anxiety.
  • Observing that he functioning of some brain circuits can predict who will respond best to the psychological treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder (ODC) and other anxiety disorders.
  • Demonstrating that intensive psychological treatments (lasting a month, for example) can be effective in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
