At the moment there are advances in the diagnosis of dry eye syndrome that help to differentiate between dry eye syndrome secondary to lack of aqueous secretion and the evaporative dry eye syndrome. There are also advances in the treatment of both types depending on the level of severity. It is important to put yourself in the hands of an ophthalmologist that may prescribe the most specific therapy for each type of patient according to its accurate diagnosis and its severity.
