Symptoms of Constipation

The main symptoms of constipation are:
Difficulty defecating.
Hard faeces.
Feeling of incomplete evacuation after defecating.
Feeling of obstruction when defecating.
Need for manual assistance when defecating.
Less than three full evacuations per week.
Symptoms and alarm signs
Sudden change in the usual rhythm of bowel movements (for a period longer than six weeks in people over 50 years of age).
Rectal bleeding or blood in the faeces.
Anaemia due to a lack of iron (iron-deficiency anaemia).
Unexpected weight loss.
Family history of bowel cancer or intestinal inflammatory bowel disease.
Palpable abdominal or rectal mass.
