The organ that studies itself: magnetic resonance imaging to understand the brain

Auditorium. Civic Center Golferichs. Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 491, 08015 Barcelona

"Cycle of informative talks In search of health".

One of the most advanced tools for studying the brain and its alterations is magnetic resonance imaging. It allows us to obtain anatomical images and study how the different regions are connected to each other forming neural networks, and how this organization is altered when suffering from a disease. We will talk about some of the most complex MRI techniques and how they help us to understand the brain and its alterations.

By Xavier López Gil, senior technician at the Experimental Magnetic Resonance Imaging Unit 7T, IDIBAPS.

Talk in Catalan. Free admission. Limited capacity, prior reservation is required.

This activity is supported by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).
