Sobre mí
I earned a degree in Biology from the University of Oviedo in 2003 and a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Tübingen in Germany in 2009 (Director: Prof. Thomas Gasser). I joined the lab of Prof. Eduardo Tolosa at IDIBAPS-Hospital Clínic de Barcelona in 2009 to investigate Parkinson disease (PD). I hold an ISCIII Miguel Servet position as independent PI and as Assoc. Prof. at the University of Barcelona. My research applies multi-disciplinary translational OMICS such as advanced epi-/genomics, transcriptomics, and phospho-proteomics to tackle the molecular mechanisms leading to neurodegeneration and to identify PD progression biomarkers, most especially at early prodromal stages.
