  • CAF Plasticity and Heterogeneity in desmoplastic tumors

We are interested in deciphering and dissecting the plasticity and heterogeneity of cancer-associated fibroblasrs (CAF) during cholangiocarcinogenesis to better understand how we can manipulate these cells to improve treatment. For our investigation we use transgenic mice allowing CAF tracing and manipulation in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA) experimental models induced by hydrodynamic tail vein injection of oncogenes using the transposon/transposase system.

  • Cancer Stem Cells in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma

Combining in vitro and in vivo systems with high throughput transcriptomics and bioinformatics, we aim to elucidate the functional role of cancer stem cells and stromal cells interactions in the TME of iCCA.

  • Tracing Intra-Tumoral Heterogenenity

Tumors are highly heterogeneous entities, and we are interested in investigating the interactions between heterogeneous cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment toward the development of new therapeutic strategies for cholangiocarcinoma. For this we are integrating in vitro and in vivo studies with single-cell and spatial transcriptomics.
