Teaching and Training - Gastrointestinal Surgery Service

The transmission of surgical knowledge and skills through the MIR system has allowed the Gastrointestinal Surgery Service to achieve a high degree of professional competence. The professionals of the Service are involved in different areas of teaching in Gastrointestinal Surgery.

Professionals from the Service teach the subject of Diseases of the Digestive System at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona, including seminars and hospital practices.

One of the greatest efforts of the Service is focused on the inclusion and teaching of resident interns, both in the specialty of Gastrointestinal Surgery and the rotation internal and external residents.

The Gastrointestinal Surgery Service participates in the development of the syllabus for the Master of Orthopedics offered by the Official College of Pharmacists of Barcelona, and also teaches its own class on stomas.

Continuing education is carried out for both national and international specialists in the theoretical and practical field of Transanal Rectal Cancer Surgery. Likewise, professionals from the Service participate in the Transanal Surgery course for Graduates in Nursing.
