Title

Sensitivity analysis of 3D total body photography system (Vectra WB360) vs 2D total body photography system to detect artificially induced new skin lesions and changes in size and/or colour of pre-existing skin lesions in a high-risk melanoma cohort.

Objective

A Vectra WB360 imaging 3D TBP system has been recently acquired at the Early Melanoma Detection Unit of the Dermatology Department of Hospital Clínic of Barcelona. It is intended to improve early melanoma detection in high-risk patients in a more efficient manner, potentially improving these patients prognosis and reducing patient waiting lists and associated physical, emotional and economic burden. The aim of the present study is to perform a prospective pilot study to evaluate the system’s sensitivity to detect artificially induced new pigmented skin lesions and changes in size and/or colour of pre-existing skin lesions in a high-risk melanoma patient cohort, and compare its sensitivity to conventional 2D TBP imaging.
